Ever notice how a lot of neurodivergent adults say the same thing about their childhood? “We were the weird friend group.” Not the popular kids. Not the ones who fit the mold. But the ones who bonded over niche interests, inside jokes no one else understood, and conversations that somehow went from dinosaurs to the meaning of life in 10 minutes. For many people, that “weird friend group” was actually a place where neurodivergent kids naturally found each other : ADHD, autistic, gifted, anxious, creative, intense, curious minds all gravitating together without even knowing why. It wasn’t that you were too much. Or too quiet. Or too obsessed with things. You were just finding people whose brains worked in similar ways. Sometimes what looked like the “weird group” was actually the most authentic one. And years later, a lot of those kids grow up and realize: maybe we weren’t weird, maybe we were just neurodivergent. #neurodivergent #adhd #autistic #weirdos #lateidentified

Invalidation is a common experience for neurodivergent people.

It’s frustrating and painful. But it’s also an opportunity to learn how to be okay with being misunderstood.

The stronger your beliefs about yourself are, the less external opinions will affect you.

The term ✨neurodivergent ✨is more popular these days but it is still misunderstood and misused.

They can be a lot of confusion around what neurodivergence actually means and who it includes.

And many people still think it only refers to a narrow definition linked to neurodevelopmental disorders (ADHD, ASD, Dys disorders), but the reality is broader.

FOMO isn’t a productivity problem : it’s a discomfort problem.

So many clients think they need better planners, tighter systems, or another organization hack. But most of the time, it’s not about structure… it’s about sitting with the uncomfortable feeling of missing out 😌

Not every opportunity is meant for you. Not every moment needs to be captured.

And choosing one thing often means not choosing something else (most of the time self-care) ✨

When I see a neurodivergent woman heading into burnout, I already know this isn’t going to be “just rest more” 🙅🏼‍♀️ It’s not just nervous system overwhelm. It’s not just an organization problem. It’s not just a career mismatch. It’s usually deeper 😌 It’s years of masking. It’s chronic self-abandonment. Hyperfocus in ADHD isn’t just “random motivation.” And the crash afterward isn’t laziness. The cycle is real and comes from many different factors. One of them is stress. You think doing the task last minute is the only way to go? It’s actually making it worse. Sometimes the productivity spike comes from urgency, pressure, or the quiet need to prove worth — and that kind of fuel burns fast. The high looks impressive, but the drop is often the cost of running on stress instead of support. I’ve noticed in sessions that when the “I need to be perfect / I need to be enough” pressure softens, something shifts. The energy feels steadier, more sustainable. Consistency with ADHD isn’t about trying harder. It’s about lowering the stress baseline and not relying on fear to create momentum. It’s not about more pressure. Neurodivergent women often don’t struggle with feeling deeply, we struggle with naming what’s happening inside. Is it overwhelm? Frustration ? Sensory overload? When you’ve spent years masking, you learn to survive your emotions… not always identify them. But here’s the truth: you can’t regulate what you can’t recognize. Building emotional vocabulary is nervous system care. It’s learning the difference between “I’m too much” and “I’m overstimulated.” Between “I’m lazy” and “I’m exhausted.” Naming the feeling is power.
